Apache2 crashes on Ubuntu Linux 22.04.5 after Zabbix was updated to 7.0.26
During a upgrade of my Ubuntu server there was a new package for Zabbix 7.0.26 (maybe also apache2, unknown by me).
Apache2 stops working so did Zabbix.
Apache2 complains about Apache 'ProxyTimeout 300' found in /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/zabbix.conf
On my system following Apache2 modules wasn't running
proxy, proxy_http, proxy_fcgi
So try to enabled them first by running in bash.
sudo a2enmod proxy
sudo a2enmod proxy_http
sudo a2enmod proxy_fcgi
Then restart Apache2 using:
sudo systemctl restart apache2
Now check if Apache and Zabbix is up and running.
I also modified the /etc/apache2/conf-enabled/zabbix.conf, maybe not needed. I add the new data in zabbix.conf:
# Define the alias so /zabbix points to the correct folder
Alias /zabbix /usr/share/zabbix
<Directory "/usr/share/zabbix">
Options FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride None
Require all granted
<IfModule mod_php.c>
php_value max_execution_time 300
php_value memory_limit 128M
php_value post_max_size 16M
php_value upload_max_filesize 2M
php_value max_input_time 300
php_value max_input_vars 10000
# Replace the timezone below with your actual timezone
php_value date.timezone UTC
</IfModule>
</Directory>
<Directory "/usr/share/zabbix/conf">
Require all denied
</Directory>
<Directory "/usr/share/zabbix/app">
Require all denied
</Directory>
<Directory "/usr/share/zabbix/include">
Require all denied
</Directory>
<Directory "/usr/share/zabbix/local">
Require all denied
</Directory>
# The line that was causing your original error
ProxyTimeout 300
If you updated zabbix.conf then restart apache2 again
sudo systemctl restart apache2
